Embark on a breathtaking journey through mountains and into the heart of the cloud forest. Overnight at our exclusive Rainforest Lodge, cruise on a boat for five hours to the secluded Manu Wild Lodge deep inside the jungle, stopping by therapeutic hot springs. Further downstream, the Manu Wild Ecological Zone beckons. Enjoy twilight in an observation tower amidst the treetops, spotting colorful birds like macaws, toucans, and tanagers. At night, a different world comes alive with spiders, insects, frogs, and serpents.
Our river journey continues towards the pristine Casa Matsiguenka Lodge in the Reserve Zone. Here, the untouched beauty of the primary rainforest unfolds, introducing you to enchanting lakes, majestic jaguars, playful otters, diverse monkeys, and a mesmerizing collection of plants, from towering trees to medicinal herbs. A restful night at a hidden house in the Manu Wild Lodge sets the stage for our return journey to Cusco by boat and bus.
Day 1: Depart from Cusco, pausing at the ancient burial towers of Ninamarca. Traverse the mountains, taking in the local charm of Paucartambo. A special highlight awaits: the national bird of Peru, the Cock of the Rock, dancing in a complex ritual, amidst the lush backdrop of monkeys and orchids.
Day 2: Journey to Atalaya, observing local flora, fauna, and landscapes. The journey includes a visit to the hot springs and a nighttime mammal clay lick in Manu Wild, before a cozy retreat at the Manu Wild Lodge.
Day 3: Our boat journey reveals glimpses of capybara, peccaries, monkeys, and birds. An optional nighttime walk in Casa Matchiguenka Lodge offers unique experiences.
Day 4: Witness giant otters in Cocha Salvador and a variety of jungle inhabitants from an observation tower at Cocha Otorongo Lake. Dive deep into the secrets of the jungle with our experienced guide.
Day 5: Opt for a special experience: observing tapirs in their natural habitat. Rest at the Reserve Ecological Manu Wild, with an optional stay in the camouflaged house.
Day 6: The journey back to Cusco is through scenic routes, leaving you with a heart full of memories.
